The Connection Between Longing and Purpose in Personal Development Part 2

Posted on February 19, 2024March 11, 2024 by JustLifePeriod

Hello! I pray that you are having a great day! Welcome back to reading another post from Just Life Period!  This is part two of The Connection Between Longing and Purpose in Personal Development.  We need to evaluate what is in our souls and ask ourselves how we can feed our souls while being faced with many distractions. Often when I am answering the call, here comes the nuisance of distraction. Like when you are super focused on completing a task but then everything around you becomes an enticing distraction. You try your best to stay on task, but those distractions are so compelling that you just can’t resist. So instead of focusing, you tend to turn to your fleshly desires. And once you miss the mark of being focused on what needs to be done, the distractions seem uninteresting and there is conviction in you.

See what I am learning is that through it all I must be strong in God’s word, be obedient to what he has called me to. To be consistent and loyal to my Creator. Strive and keep my eyes on my prize which is Jesus! To be guarded and watchful, so that I will know the schemes of the devil when he Is trying to take my focus off Jesus and the plans that he has for me. The devil knows more about us than we know about ourselves, it’s his job to kill, steal, and destroy our full potential… our future.  When we’re obedient that longing goes away because we have been full of God! Being filled with God is the deep longing that our soul desperately craves. When we feel that longing, our soul is hungry and thirsty and it’s our job to feed our soul. Now, just like a child, they long for junk food but as parents we know that our child/ren needs nutritious food. Our flesh wants junk, things that are vanity, the things that distract us like TikTok, binging on movies, things that are not good for us. But our soul craves more. We crave temporary substances, but our soul wants eternal substances. We don’t know our purpose or who we are because we’re not feeding our souls correctly.

It’s easier said than done, to just be obedient, to follow God’s word, and to keep our eyes on the prize. It’s hard! I know, but one thing that I am learning is that we are more than conquers, we are overcomers and God wants us at our Full potential. He wants us and is calling us to be in our purpose. These things around us don’t matter, the devil puts things in our lives to distract us from ourselves and what is in front of us. But it’s our job to continue to feed our soul with what it needs! The only person that knows what our soul needs is our Father.

I would love to hear from you… comment below! 😊

Thank you! That is why in the bible it says, “For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh; for these are opposed to each other to prevent you from doing what you would.” So we struggle with our flesh and Spirit! But we have to fight against the Distractions/Temptations and give our souls what it truly needs! Thank you so much for commenting! Be Blessed!
