“The Lord was with Joseph, and he became a successful man…”

                                                                               Genesis 39:2

When the Lord is with you, people see that light that God has shined on you. You are a blessing and everything surrounding you is blessed. Everything that you touch will/is blessed! To be with the Lord is a beautiful but terrifying thing, I say that because God sees ahead of you that you can’t see. Let’s be honest, it’s terrifying when you are with the Lord, it leads to difficult places that make you uncomfortable. That light that you have some people are envious and want you to mess up. But then it’s a beautiful thing because God puts the right people in your life!

In verse 2, we see that because the Lord was with Joseph he became a successful man, serving in the household of his Egyptian master. 3 When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made everything, he did successful, 4 Joseph found favor with his master and became his personal attendant. Favor is defined as approval, support, or liking for someone or something. When the Lord is with you not only are you successful, but you have favor with other people.

This is the kind of God I serve! God can do anything, two scripture that comes to me is Genesis 50:20 NIV, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” Those were the words of Joseph when his brothers found out that he was alive and that he was second in command! The other scripture that is popular is, Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

In this life that we live, we must trust God. God is our only way! Like imagine this, imagine what went through Joseph’s mind. He’s with his family, getting royal treatment, having dreams of ruling over his family. Going in and out as he pleases, his life turned upside down. Now he’s a slave so that means he’s working for someone, and he doesn’t have a say over his own life! He belongs to someone else, he’s the property of another being. The part I want you to understand is that no matter where life takes you, we must know that God is with us! From the good and the bad, God is with you. He’s in it with you! God orchestra our lives.  God was preparing Joseph to be a leader, he was a personal assistant so he was around his master, he saw how to conduct business, and how to talk to the workers because God knew that one day he would be ruling. Sometimes God takes us on a detour that can be rough but it’s to prepare us. It isn’t fun, it’s frustrating and you feel lost. but we must know that it’s for a reason. Whatever season you’re in Remember that God Is with You! I Pray that God strengthens you. I pray that you keep going no matter what. Be Blessed.
