Bible study: Part 2 Genesis 39:3-6

When his master saw that the LORD was with him

and that the LORD made everything he did successful.

4 Joseph found favor with his master and became his personal attendant.

Potiphar also put him in charge of his household

and placed all that he owned under his authority.

5 From the time that he put him in charge of his household

and all that he owned, the LORD blessed the Egyptians

house because of Joseph. The LORD’s blessing was on all that

he owned in his house and in his fields. 6 He left all that

he owned under Joseph’s authority, he did not concern

himself with anything except the food he ate.

So transparent moment, I have been taking my bible study seriously for about a month now like dissecting and spending time with God at 4 in the morning (COMMITMENT!), Praying and just trying to stay faithful to what and who God is. I heard from Jackie Hill Perry that it’s imperative and profound to know the nature of God. To learn the character of God. So that we know who God is. I’m so hyped about learning the different names of God and what each of His names means and in the meaning of his name is who He is, His attributes are.

LORD another name meaning is YAHWEH or Jehovah, the existing one, this would make sense as God referred to himself as “I AM” YAHWEH is the covenant-keeping name of God. This also explains the LORD (YAHWEH) is mostly in situations where He’s interacting with His people.

It’s something about being in the LORD’s presence.  When you are with God, God makes it known that you are with him. “I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee” Revelation 3:9b but we must know that for us to be prosperous in God we have to keep his word and meditate on his word day and night, and seeking the LORD always. You can always tell when the LORD is with someone Jacob (Genesis 30:27), Abraham (Genesis 26:28), David (1 Samuel 18:28), and You Matthew 5:16. Joseph trusted in God, did what he was supposed to do, and was blessed, by doing this Joseph showed that God was real. Sometimes we may not want to do something but if we know that God is with us and we live it out, Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people, knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord.” Colossians 3: 23-24 Then we know for sure that God will elevate us to a higher position, just like Joseph.

Being faithful, what does that look like? Faithful is remaining loyal and steadfast. Constant, devoted, true, dedicated, committed, obedient. I saw this statement and I know that it is true it says, Faithfulness is that quality that helps us to endure, to serve, and to commit to God in every season. Joseph was in a season of loneliness, patience, and trust, growth, integrity. And during all these seasons the top of his lesson was to look at God. I’m finding out myself that when you look at God, he gives you what you need to sustain. When you look at God, He’s like a coach who keeps you focused and teaches you all the things that you need. When you look at God you start to move just like him. “Jesus replied, Truly I tell you, the Son is not able to do anything on his own, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, the Son likewise does these things” John 5:19.

When the LORD is with you everything in you, through you, and around you will be blessed through the good and the bad, and whether now or later you’re going to see that He was with you all the time.
